The ARC Research Hub for Smart Process Design and Control has officially launched at Monash University, backed by $5 million in ARC funding over 5 years.
The Hub brings together leading Australian universities and global industry partners to tackle a defining challenge: decarbonising resource processing while boosting productivity. By combining physics-based modelling, AI, and advanced measurement technologies, the Hub aims to transform mineral and metallurgical processes – cutting emissions, improving energy efficiency, and driving next-generation ironmaking and steelmaking.
This work strengthens Australia’s leadership in resource innovation, supports a low-carbon economy, and builds sovereign capability through training the next generation of engineers and researchers.
