Almost 40 years working experiences in mining and steel industry across different countries, including China, Australia and Singapore. My roles in two big organizations had covered the R&D project management, iron ore sales and technical marketing, steel decarbonization partnership program development and implantation, internal consultant for supervising key projects and strategy development, technical team establishment and management.
Unique working experience in China central government’s steel production and technology department, which significantly helped me gain profound understandings and insights into China mining and steel industry, also developed my strategic thinking and leadership capability. I was the first person to become section head in the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry within 6 years and at the youngest age. As the leader of Ironmaking section, I used to organize more than 100 professors and researchers to conduct national R&D projects.
Within RTIO as Chief Representative of Hamersley Iron Beijing Office I led both commercial and technical teams to achieve the best sales performance among all regional sales office. As the head of RT Global Iron Ore Technical Market and R&D team I led the team to play multiple roles to provide strong support to Rio Tinto iron ore business.
More than 25 years working experience with Iron Ore Sales and Marketing within Rio Tinto I assumed different leader roles, including technical manager, sales manager, Senior Manager of Technical Marketing and Industry Analysis, and R&D. Those valuable experience made me more capable to cope with more complicated business cases.
Strong technical and academic background in steel industry. I had published more than 30 technical papers and two books. I had been invited as key speaker to deliver presentation in plenary session both in China and other countries several times. I also have strong technical and market analytic capability and delivered a lot of high-quality reports for the business. I enjoy good reputation in the Chinese steel industry.
I am responsible and self-motivated person. As sales manager there was no contract which was defaulted under my account.
Best combination of commercial and technical experience could make me to fit into more diversified works across different product groups and functions in different countries.
